Metro NY Geocaching Society

Heya, I just wanted to see if anyone here is interested in going to the CT Cachers GeoJamboree in CT. It's about 90 minutes outside of the city and there's a lot of good caching and fellowship and whatnot there. I have a campsite for Friday to Sunday if anyone is interested in camping for the weekend.

I guess this is a good place to start my first of many rants about "offset caches." OFFSET CACHES ARE NOT ALWAYS MULTI-CACHES! I hate when I'm wandering around and there's a cache near by and it turns out that it's not just a multi-cache, but an offset cache as well! To quote a post I made...

i personally like the 21st. it's also the longest day of sun light in the year so it's an even better choice!

Palidin8 sent out an email last night about how he's talking to Rockwell's in Pelham about doing something there. Apparently it's across from the Metro-North station and within walking distance of two caches. That might be a good place in Westchester.

"Adventure Courses" are not just good "team building" things but great ways to meet, interact, and get to know others. The only downside of doing them is that people will know I'm a 130 pound weakling.

I don't see why they can't have a multi cache icon with an "O" on it sort of like the event cache icon with an "M" on it for mega caches.

I don't know how many tents you can have on each site, but I do indeed have a site and room to share. I know that you are only allowed two cars on site but if I end up getting a ride up with someone camping, it'll be easy to get two cars there.

So the tour I'm out with has provided me with a TomTom One for the truck I'm driving all over the country, I want to put some other voices on it but they don't have the USB cable for it and I was wondering if I might be able to use the cable from my 60csx. Does anyone know?

How much do they cost? Is there website to buy them on? Did you make it? Can you make us a logo? Awesome.

I know, don't remind me. I lose work because of it all the time but I mean, but it's cheaper to make a film in Canada so I can't fault them on good business sense.

Army-Navy stores are a great way to go. You can order them online but they cost a lot more than just going to an Army-Navy store from my experience.
