Five of Diamonds

... secret in the Bronx. I'm here to ruin that, and spread the word. Can't think of a better place to do that than here. If you find yourself caching in the Bronx, it's worth a few minutes of your time. My log has more information. The cache page is here: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=684a830e-0bf1-4c6a-af36-073fbe453ffd ...

Military Containers and Geocaching in NYC

... year (arrests, fines, etc.): http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,249110,00.html I'm not afraid to admit I'm nervous about the implications for NYC caching in general. My (unsolicited) advice: Let's try to rotate out of military-style containers and use transparent containers where possible. I like ...

Re: WWFM V - 2nd May 2009

... muggles in their wake. (A few of the WWFM events in the past few months have stayed even truer to the "FM" spirit, by not just event caching for 15 minutes, but also doing something even less expected like (say) having a big pillow fight.) It's obviously not a hard requirement to ...

Re: Geocaching profiled in Rivertowns Enterprise

... to the outside world we come across as a lot fringier than we really are when the articles stick to people's screen names. This article makes caching seem like a pretty sane activity.

Re: WWFM--FAll 09

Let's see, we've had Queens, Westchester and Manhattan... I'd say that Brooklyn is a great choice. Good caching density in Prospect Park.

August 28th - World Burn Congress - Community Outreach

Hey guys - I've been in touch with some folks from the North Carolina Geocaching Organization about some really amazing geocaching outreach work they've been doing. For the last three years they have hosted a local program to introduce geocaching to teen burn ...

Re: Staten Island

... and I just don't think there are very many cachers who live on Staten Island right now. I don't think it's because SI doesn't lend itself to caching or that people who live on SI are less likely to enjoy it; sometimes network phenomena (like geocaching) just develop differently in different ...

Re: Puzzle Preparedness

... I LIKE about puzzle caches, being able to work on those puzzles on rainy days, sleepless nights, or even downtime at work keeps me connected to caching when I can't actually be out there. I agree with both. I (obviously) like puzzle caches, and I like both puzzles that can be solved in the field ...

... of ever thinking of taking their kids out to enjoy the game. Firstly, uggggghhhhh. I agree. Ugh. I admit the hider has a very "funny" caching name, but not one I think gc.com would allow. Numbers in SF

... was glancing at the last few logs... Three finders ago, the cacher was logging his 2368th day in a row with a find. That's six and a half years of caching every single day! Which is impressive enough, but then four finders earlier was a team logging find number 37,000-and-something. Holy cannoli.

Re: CBS Geocaching Interview - Need Volunteer(s)!!

... and one Thursday? It's probably good that they can't film in Central Park, actually... I am generally hesitant to rub the CPC's nose in the caching activity there. Something in Riverside Park, Morningside Park or Inwood Hill / Fort Tryon might work well. Gerk's Lantern caches on Ward's Island ...

Re: December 14th! - Hobby

And of course I'm totally remiss in mentioning that Cully's presentation was great! He nailed it - good slides, great Cliff's Notes overview of caching. At one point Cully put up before and after photos of a particularly good camo job - the crowd's audible gasp at the second photo was worth the ...
