Re: Coyote in Central Park

Wow! This stuff is amazing Gerk!

How the heck did a coyote manage to make it to Central Park? At least with birds I can picture the mechanism. But I can't even figure out how a coyote would make it on the island. My buddy figures someone was raising it in his apartment and let it go...

Re: The War of Light is on!

And I don't see anything wrong with one or two people getting all the FTFs, I mean seriously... Should Ruth have waited in the rain for someone to come by and find the next one? Should Behistun have had a picnic with Navigator in the middle of the VCP woods until the next cacher showed up? ...

Re: Stupid Muggles!

... get grumpy... Muggled after only 5 days! Of the 7 caches I've placed so far, 4 have gone missing. That's 57.1428571%! I get the feeling that someone is stalking my caches. Either that, or my camo is lousy. I'm not so sure you should be blaming someone for stalking your caches or your cammo. ...

"Meet Someone New" is gone :(

Well, it looks like another cool cache in the City is a goner. Meet Someone New (GCN2H4) was a cool cross-country Multi-Cache with an initial waypoint in LA, a second in NYC, and with the final back in LA. The idea was to connect with a cacher on the opposite ...

Re: Wherigo caches

FTF went to WherigoBilder whose account has been active for 8 days. :-\ Looks like it may be a secondary account by someone from around here... "Profile Information: Team of cachers looking forward to finding and hiding Wherigos, the coolest cache type out there. " But ...

Re: The Congratulations Thread

Ha, thanks... I was reading about how someone stole the lid to the cache a couple of weeks ago and that the CO had said something along the lines of "well, it had a good run". Got me thinking that if I didn't get it soon, I'd have to trek through the jungles of Brazil for an APE cache!

Re: CBS Geocaching Interview - Need Volunteer(s)!!

... Hill / Fort Tryon might work well. Gerk's Lantern caches on Ward's Island might not be a bad choice. Pill Popper in Morningside would be fun, for someone who hasn't found it before. As much as I love the cache, I don't think I'd be eager to show them Crossroads of the World... the recent terrorism ...

Re: Mystery box...

Metro NY Calendar

... is nice because (unlike the coins) we don't have to order any inventory or shell anything out up front. They produce the items on demand, so if someone orders something, the royalties go straight to Metro without Metro having to commit to 20 or 50 or 100 calendars ahead of time. It works out ...

Re: Manhattan Magellan

... *hint, hint* haha ;-) That's actually on my list of things to do! Ever since lefalaf's DNF I've had it in mind to double-check it. If I can find someone to go with me before the 3rd, I might be able to check it before you get out there.

Re: Signing the logs

... this, where the person seems clearly to have visited the cache and found the container, I would happily let the online log stand. I don't need someone's signature on a tiny rolled up piece of paper for me to confirm that they found the cache. I'd feel differently for certain types of caches ...
