Metro NYGCS banner on cache pages

So I was just curious, how many people here list a MetroGC banner on any. or all. of their cache listings. Feel free to answer the poll and also leave a comment on which caches have the banner. I'll compile a list with links to the caches and make sure they get put on the front end of the site when ...

Re: Cache Placement Etiquette

All of the coordinates I've published are averaged by my GPSr over 2 to 5 minutes. I then will wander in from as many paths as possible and verify that they are the best possible coordinates.

Re: Cache Placement Etiquette

My GPSr has a compass built into it. Also I don't see how hard it is or would be to determine a direction via your GPSr. I think some admins just have a few sticks up their butts.

Re: FastFoot-Challenge

So this is like playing manhunt but with a tracker. That's kind of neat. It also looks like it would be a great app for the iPhone but it doesn't seem like they make one for it.

Re: Pocket Query Tutorial?

Sometimes it takes time for the pocket queries to run. I've had one go within seconds of selecting the day and I've had them run 6 hours later. It all depends on what's going on server side. The best thing I can tell you to do is to hurry up and wait.

Re: May 2 - WWFM V (GC1M6E0)

So I have been informed by my employer that I will indeed have to work every weekend between now and June and that there's nothing that I can do to get out of it. With that said, I was wondering if someone here would like to take the reigns on this event and help make it happen?

Re: May 2 - WWFM V (GC1M6E0)

Seriously guys, the event is next Saturday. Does anyone want to take this over? I'm going to unpublish it if I can't find a willing host it as I don't want my name, or the group's, associated with a hostless event. And Harry, I'm sorry that a group decision to have this event be Where's Waldo themed...

Re: Google Earth Help

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking about but, I think if you use the ruler tool that might solve your problem.

Re: Google Earth Help

I'd say to enter all the coords and then draw lines between the waypoints. There is an option on the ruler to do a cumulative distance if I remember correctly. I'll check back after my rehearsal ends when I can bust out my comp and see what I can figure out.

Re: June 13 - GeoJamboree 7 (GC1K21P)

Here's the email I got back. Ok, here are the number of openings I have at the various times. Please note that the 8PM timeslot is as daylight permits. Friday 4PM - 5 6PM - 3 8PM - 5 Saturday 8AM - 5 4PM - 3 6PM - 1 8PM - 5 I think there are like 3 or 4 hydrocaches if I remember correctly. So yeah, ...

Re: New York DeLorme Challenge GC102CP

i thought i'd start with something small first, like rhode island. then work my way up to new york. i think i can do rhode island in like 5 hours as opposed to 5 years like it'd take me to do new york. ;)

Re: New York State Parks

I pulled this off of a google cached page from the new york geocaching society. In theory, the parks office has the permits on file. Effective immediately, permits are required for all geocaches placed within New York State Parks. Permits are available at the Park Office. Please review the following...
