Re: Child Waypoints

... for urban caching - if every city cache includes a few additional waypoints for nearby public transportation, it could get super cluttering for those who download pocket queries. Maybe the Metro group should hide a simple cache, and for that cache include a waypoint for each of the subway stops ...

Re: Responsible muggles

... had claimed the FTF two or three weeks before publication! According to his log he had been out looking for mushrooms or moss or something along those lines (the memory, it fades with age) and stumbled across the ammo can (which was pretty well hidden actually). He signed the log, took nothing ...

May 2 - WWFM V (GC1M6E0)

I think it's too early to actually get May events listed on GC.com, but for those who like to think about these things ahead of time the next WWFM will be the first Saturday in May.

Re: Coin Poll

... of interest for another 35 (these are people who have sent in their requests but haven't sent in the money we need to send to Oak Coins). Assuming those 35 are good for it (I'm highly confident of most of them), that's about 50 shy of the 205 coins we need to pre-sell in order to have our order ...

Re: Coin Poll

... coins: We have received pre-order interest for 191 coins. We have received actual payment for 155 coins. We are awaiting payment on 36 coins. Of those 36 I have high enough confidence in approximately half of the coins (based on who ordered them) that I'd cover the deposits out of my own pocket ...

But in NYC for example, with the (1) resolution of the satellite photos, (2) availability of identifiable landmarks from those photos, and (3) GPSr performance issues in the concrete canyons, I think Google Maps is a perfectly legitimate way to play the game. ... 100 feet, and one posted the readings he got at the site in his log (since edited out). Turns out the cache had originally been published with those coords, but there was a proximity issue.
