Interested in finding an "unpublished" cache?

... 'erratic' are you?" since it is close to a large glacial erratic boulder at the northern tip of Hunter Island, north of Orchard Beach (Bx.) I think it's hidden in a clever place but some of you guys (esp. Behistun) are very clever finders. If you're in the vicinity, here are the coords: N ...

Re: Interested in finding an "unpublished" cache?

... about my situation and asked them if they could find it if they were in the vicinity and interested. That's the only way I can find out if what I think is a clever hide is really as clever as I think. Wonder if we could have a sub-forum here on this site for us locals to post caches which don't ...

Re: Columbia University new story

From the start the journalists seemed very respectful of the idea of caching, even seemed to think it was actually cool (as opposed to "what are these weird people doing" vibe that so many articles/documentaries/etc. are infected with). The first time I spoke ...

Re: FTF Etiquette

Wow, a lot to think about here. And I'm an admitted FTF hound, so... it seemed that going after a cache before it was published might be viewed as wrong. Or is it? I once faced a similar situation. I read on a friend's blog a post ...

Re: FTF Etiquette

... show me the same courtesy. I also do what I can to log my FTFs online promptly, so that other people know that the cache has been claimed. I think it's a fair and sporting thing to do. (I've even gone so far as emailing other cachers after being STF on a cache which is taking the FTF a while ...

... of sight. I strongly resist the notion that I was doing anything that I shouldn't have been. I can appreciate NYA's concerns, while not always thinking that NYA gets it right - as I recall you once placed a virtual stage of a multi-cache on the Brooklyn Bridge and had a devil of a time convincing ...

... regarding the UN I wish you had mentioned it to me privately. I told what I thought was a sort of funny anecdote but left out all details. I think you could have made your argument against hunting for unpublished caches without supplying them to the world. Thanks.

Re: New York Yankees retired #s series

... be a muggle right on top of the cache for quite some time. At least once or twice I had to give up and go home and come back another day. I think if things go smoothly, a few hours is probably plenty enough time.

Re: Do you think Opencaching is actually bad for Groundspeak

I'm hoping it shocks groundspeak out of the sense of complacency that companies with no competition seem to suffer from. People have been begging for an API for a long, long time. opencaching.com opens for business this morning with a fully open API, and groundspeak announces later the same day that...

Re: Do you think Opencaching is actually bad for Groundspeak

So. I foresee a buyout coming soon to a sport/hobby that you enjoy. Do you think a secret deal may already be in place? Ugh. I hope they don't ruin the site. OC's site may look pretty at first glance, but it's all facade and no substance. Plus the Bing maps do ...
