Geocaching and Orienteering combined?

Has anyone thought of or mentioned combining geocaching with orienteering where people would have to run to find a designated number of hides (let's say in a 10 square mile area) in the fastest time? I guess using a digital camera to show pics of each hide would ...

Five of Diamonds

... in place for over two months with just two smileys. Of all of the caches in the Bronx, none that were placed prior to 2008 have fewer than two people "watching" them - except for this one, which has precisely zero folks keeping an eye on it. Nobody cares. A quick glance through the ...

Re: Cache Stats?

... know much about the technical side of this stuff, so I don't know how much of that can be done with a script. According to the above link only 23 people have installed it since November, so I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that none of the caches I've logged have ever received a vote. PS - Is ...

Re: Puzzles Anyone?

... I think that what it says is that you designed an elegant puzzle with clever hints to the solution. Anyone can design an impossible puzzle - keep people busy for a few hours while delivering a satisfying solve, that's the mark of nice construction. I liked it anyway!

Not Signing the Logbook

... cache in hand (such as if I can't get the container open), I won't log it as a find. On the other hand, I never have worried much about how other people play the game and don't expect that to change any time soon. Snug as a Bug is approaching its 1-year anniversary in a very populated area of ...

The point is that admins have figured out that people not connected with the game who carry guns seem to care about bridges A LOT and that these folks are perfectly willing (eager?) to respond disproportionately ...

Re: Geocoin trouble

Just from watching the coins logged into some of my caches, I've found that what Merge ran into isn't that uncommon - sometimes people will go two, three, four weeks or more before logging that they picked up a coin. I can't really explain it, except that vacationing cachers sometimes ...

Re: GeoWoodstockVI

... of my "unfound caches" list, but with 25 guesses I'm not sure I'd figure out what state GeoWoodstock is held in. That's not to say that people have to include the links. But if they did, it would make it a lot easier for inexperienced event folks like me.
