Interested in finding an "unpublished" cache?

... pill canister. I realize you won't get official credit through Groundspeak, but I'm very curious to find out if what I think is a clever hide is actually quite mundane? The hint was: "How high is your reach?" It's a little wet around the GZ but the cache isn't in any water or submerged. ...

Re: Interested in finding an "unpublished" cache?

Actually I did look for it about 2 weeks ago and it was a DNF for me but I didn't post it in the log. I planned to go back and look again but my plans went awry. So I emailed the owner and asked her to check its status. I ...

Re: Whereigo

Speaking solely from my own little corner of geek-dom, I actually think this could be amazing. I love this kind of stuff. I solved Zork when I was a kid and then re-solved it on my Treo as an adult. I totally dig on puzzle hunts. Have designed two of ...

I've actually solved this one but haven't had the chance to go claim it yet. Bag End by Harry Dolphin and Andy Bear 22 smilies. None of them are me, unfortunately. ...

Re: On Location NYC - A new geocache series in NYC

... cache. But there could be many more from those movies, and of course one of the Law & Order shows is shooting on the streets almost every day. Actually I think those two are part of the same multi as the "All in the Family" house, the cache I mentioned earlier in this thread. I don't ...

Re: Change your clocks!

Actually, I think the forum software is off by an hour - is there a way to "goose" it to the correct time?

Not Signing the Logbook

... I would allow him to log the cache despite not physically logging in. I haven't responded and haven't seen the photos yet, so I don't know if he actually found the correct spot or not. I'm debating how to handle this. On the one hand, I am a believer that part of the game is to physically sign ...

Re: Responsible muggles

... mushrooms or moss or something along those lines (the memory, it fades with age) and stumbled across the ammo can (which was pretty well hidden actually). He signed the log, took nothing and left a union handbook. Nice to occasionally be reminded that not all muggles are destructive tornadoes.

Re: Responsible muggles

Actually reminds me of my favorite log ever. I wasn't lucky enough to stumble across it myself, but it still cracks me up. I've mailed it to a number of my non-geocaching friends. It spans these four photos: http://img.geocaching.com/cache/log/3f6024e7-8e40-48ff-b074-eccef2971374.jpg ...

Re: Central Park asks for Geocache Removal

... with Central Park geocaches that seems to make it clear that the CO needs to be local. Well I'm glad this group has already solved that problem. I actually just got a nice email from a geocacher based in Sweden, who placed a cache in Central Park over the weekend and was denied by the NY Admin ...

Re: New iPhone and Geocaching

... have to be a little thicker than the old version and there might not be enough demand for GPS technology to justify that design change. That they actually came out with a slimmer design, but with GPS capabilities, makes me suspect that the iPhone's GPS will be relatively weak. Garmin may not be ...

Re: New iPhone and Geocaching

Saw this on Engadget. Interesting that the GPS capabilities were actually demo'd w.r.t. geocaching (or as they call it, "geo-caching"). I hear that even though it has GPS I can't use it as a nav unit, what's up with that? According to the SDK agreement, ...

Re: SilverMarc's Proto Picnic

Third year in a row I'll be out of town for the event. Actually the fourth, but I wasn't really caching in 2005 so didn't know about it. (Sigh).
